    Jazz at The Manor   Between Two Worlds

    This Autumn, we are excited to bring you live music in one of the most beautiful and historic locations in Jersey - St Ouen’s Manor.

     

    The concert will feature the outstanding composer, producer and bassist James Owston, together with pianist, composer, and educator Matyas Gayer and drummer Steve Brown.They will be joined by singer Adria, for an evening of world-class music in a truly unique setting.

    When it comes to her approach to music Adria is a free spirit with no boundaries. Adria’s Latin roots are always present in her performance, she has a natural flare for mixing various genres and making them work with great finesse, innovation and improvisation. 

    Adria spent time in Cuba among the Buena Vista Social Club crowd as well as regular slots at The Jazz Cafe in London. She has performed at exclusive venues such as Ronnie’s Scott and curated projects of musical art of different cultures.

     

    With a technical fluidity on his instrument, and strong connection to various forms of improvised music, James Owston is a bassist who stretches stylistic boundaries and pushes the instrument to its limit, drawing on many influences to develop a sound that is stylish, virtuosic and captivating. “His tone big and resonant, his time keeping immaculate and his solos highly dexterous and consistently engaging” (The Jazz Mann).

     

    Matyas Gayer is one of the few leading figures in the new generation of jazz musicians and known to be one of a handful of young pianists who is successfully forging his own distinctive style and musical voice out of the greatness of a jazz piano tradition.

    Steve Brown is one of the most highly regarded jazz drummer in the UK , a fixture in the London and international Jazz scene and winner of the British Jazz Awards. 

    Steve has toured internationally and recorded extensively. He is perhaps best known for his long-standing work with the quartet of renowned jazz saxophonist Scott Hamilton, featuring on multiple records. 

    Throughout his career, he has shared the stage and recording studio with a heavy roster of both acclaimed British jazz musicians and visiting American musicians.

     

     

    Tickets for this very special occasion are limited therefore booking in advance is essential.
